Primer application guidelines
This product is designed for use as an intermediate layer between the sanded primer and the polyurethane finish and have the following benefits:
- Perfectly covers "burn-through" marks caused during sanding.
- Evens out different shades of the primer, achieving a more uniform finish.
- Eliminates sanding marks and other sanding defects.
- Recommended for use under high-gloss white lacquers.
- Suitable for all types of wood and wood-based products (veneers, MDF, etc.), with precautions for highly resinous or difficult-pored tropical woods.
- Ideal for all types of lacquered furniture, including those requiring vertical application due to its good thixotropy (assembled furniture, chairs, interior carpentry, juvenile furniture, etc.).
- Recommended for lacquered kitchen and bathroom furniture.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND PRACTICAL ADVICE
This product can be applied using:
- Cup guns
- Pressure pot systems
- Air spray guns (Nozzle: 2.5 mm, Pressure: 2.5 - 3 atm)
- Air mix guns
- Curtain coating machines, using the appropriate solvent
Mixing Ratio:
Mix 2 parts (by volume) of 140001 Valpon F Blanco with 1 part of Hardener 190091 Valpon E NAM, stirring until a uniform mixture is achieved.
Preparation:
- Sand the primer with 360-400 grit sandpaper before the application and make sure the surface is free from dust and contaminants (silicone, grease, varnish residues, etc.).
- If recoated with a finish within 8 hours, sanding is not necessary but recommended to remove defects.
- If more than 8 hours have passed, sand more thoroughly with 400-500 grit sandpaper to ensure adhesion of the finish coat.
Recommended Environmental Conditions for Application:
- Temperature: 15 to 25 ÂșC
- Humidity: 50%-70%
Recommended Solvents:
- Winter: Use 510102 Valdis Polyurethane (fast evaporation, significantly reduces viscosity).
- General use: Use 510101 Valdis P (medium/fast evaporation).
- Summer: Use 540414 Valdis V Antivelo Lento alone or mixed with 500028 Valdis V Superlento for very hot conditions.
- Curtain coating machine: Use 540438 Valdis V MĂĄquina Cortina.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
- Pot life: 3 hours
- Drying time (120 microns on the inert substrate at 25ÂșC):
- Dust dry: 30 minutes
- Touch dry: 60 minutes
- Hard dry: 2 hours
- Stacking time: 24 hours
- Recoat interval without sanding: 1 to 8 hours
- Sanding time at 25ÂșC: After 5 to 6 hours
- Recommended application weight: 140 to 160 g/mÂČ
Applying a temperature gradient of 35 to 40 ÂșC during drying improves drying and sanding performance.
It can be tinted with pigment pastes to obtain pastel shades.
